Nintendo Fans Furious as Bug Crashes Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Games on Switch

Nintendo fans are expressing their frustration as a new bug is causing two of the most popular games on the Switch to crash at a critical moment. However, there is a solution.

The Pesky Bug Breaking the Games

The game-breaking bug occurs during a crucial moment in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, specifically when players need to swap in their Koraidon or Miraidon into a fight.

The Teal Mask DLC

It appears that the introduction of The Teal Mask, the first piece of DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, is causing the crashes. The release of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC prompted updates to the base games.

A Warning for Pokémon Fans

Before we proceed, please note that the following contains spoilers for the last battle in the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet main story.

The Final Fight and Frustration

The latest game update, version 2.0.1, introduced a bug that crashes the game during the Paradise Protection Protocol (PPP) fight. This is the final fight in the main game, which is even more frustrating for players.

Disappointment for Fans

Many fans expressed their disappointment as they were unable to complete the base game before starting the highly anticipated DLC.

The Cause of the Bug and a Workaround

Eagle-eyed players have discovered the exact cause of the bug and have come up with a workaround. Twitter user, mattyoukhana_ has posted two possible solutions to the problem in a short video.

How to Avoid the Bug

The game-breaking bug occurs if players have Koraidon or Miraidon registered to the Pokédex and scroll down through slots 4, 5, or 6 in their party during the battle.

Solution 1: Reduce Party Size

One possible solution is to reduce your party to just three Pokémon before fighting the PPP. However, this is not recommended as the Paradise Protection Protocol is quite tough to beat.

Solution 2: Bring a Full Party

The best solution is to go into the battle with a full party of six Pokémon. Instead of scrolling down, simply press the up button to scroll directly to the legendary slot at the bottom. From there, select the "Swap in" option and continue the battle normally to complete the main game.

The Solution to the Annoying Bug

So there you have it. Now you know how to solve the annoying PPP battle crash bug in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Happy playing!
