In a recent podcast, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer announces Xbox's decision

Xbox players have been buzzing with speculation about the future of the company, and now their questions have been answered. In a recent official Xbox Podcast, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer confirmed the rumors that a number of Xbox-exclusive games will be coming to other platforms like Nintendo Switch and PS5.

Four games set to make the leap to rival consoles

While the specific games were not revealed during the podcast, sources indicate that rhythm action platformer Hi-Fi Rush and choices matter adventure Pentiment will be the first two games to make their way to rival platforms. Later on, action adventure game Sea of Thieves and survival crafting game Grounded are expected to follow suit.

Xbox aims to deliver more games to more people

Xbox has made it clear that their goal is to make games accessible to as many people as possible. Phil Spencer stated, "I do have a fundamental belief that over the next five or ten years exclusive games, games that are exclusive to one piece of hardware, are going to be a smaller and smaller part of the game industry."

Sharing games on other platforms is important, says Spencer

Phil Spencer emphasized the importance of sharing games on other platforms in an interview with The Verge. While major Xbox-exclusive games like Starfield and the upcoming Indiana Jones and The Great Circle will remain exclusive for now, Spencer believes that ruling out games going to other platforms is not the way forward. He stated, "We’re focused on these four games and learning from the experience. But for anybody to stand up and say something’s never going to happen, I think it feels like creating more certainty in a world of gaming where you really want to respond to what customers want and what our players and creators are looking for."

Xbox denies rumors of discontinuing consoles

Some fans believed that the lack of exclusives on Xbox meant that the company would soon stop creating more consoles. However, Xbox has denied this and plans to share more about their next-gen consoles later this year.
