MASKED Singer fans are convinced that the celebrity behind Jacket Potato is an EastEnders legend – and they’ve spotted the clue to confirm it.
Savvy viewers reckon Walford favourite Shane Richie, who plays Alfie Moon in the BBC soap, is underneath the spud costume.
And its perhaps easy to see why viewers came to that conclusion as, aside from his time in the Square, Shane had a glittering career in musicals.
The actor, 58, has starred in Grease and Boogie Nights but another clue is that Jacket Potato played the guitar live on air last week, an instrument Shane also knows how to play.
The clue appears to be that obvious, fans took to social media to voice their opinion.
One fan wrote on Twitter: “If he’s not Shane Ritchie then he’s doing a good impersonation of him.”
Another fan said: “Jacket Potato is easily Shane Richie.”
A third added: “Jacket Potato looks and sounds like Shane Richie. Come on panel.”
But this is not the first time viewers have guessed that it is Shane. Earlier last month, viewers believed that Shane was the famous face behind the costume.
At that time Elvis’ song Viva Las Vegas was performed and just seconds in, fans were all of the opinion that it was Shane.
One said on the social media platform: “#maskedsinger Shane Richie is jacket potato! ID KNOW THAT VOICE ANYWHERE!!!”#
Another added: “Jacket Potato is giving me Shane Ritchie vibes.”
