PRINCE Charles spurred on The Queen to make an emotional balcony appearance at her Jubilee finale with a last-minute call, a source said.
The Prince of Wales told her over the phone how desperate people were to see her at Buckingham Palace, they added.
And Her Majesty is said to have had tears in her eyes moments before her balcony appearance to close her Platinum Jubilee last Sunday.
The insider told the Mail on Sunday: “The Queen only decided that she would go to London about three hours before the balcony appearance.
“She was not feeling brilliant but the Prince of Wales had called her and told her she really ought to come if she could.
“He told her there were so many people desperate to see her and he convinced her to come.

“The Queen was totally overwhelmed by the number of people waiting to see her – she had tears in her eyes before she stepped out on the balcony.”
Princes Charles and William had agreed the carefully choreographed moments where The Queen, 96, was seen with the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge and his eldest son George, eight.
The image showed the next three generations who will succeed her and may be the last time all four generations are seen together.
Her Majesty wrote in a message of thanks after the celebrations: “While I may not have attended every event in person, my heart has been with you all; and I remain committed to serving you to the best of my ability, supported by my family.”
She missed several events including the concert and pageant during the Jubilee, sparking health fears.
And Kate Middleton had said she was “fine” but found the first day very tiring.
The Queen beamed as she joined her family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on the first day of celebrations.
But hours later officials confirms she would miss a service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral after experiencing discomfort.

She nevertheless beamed to light the Platinum Jubilee beacon setting off 3,300 flames across Britain that same evening.
She also paid respect to her late husband Prince Philip at the celebrations.
