I’M a Celebrity star Jenny Eclair has revealed her live podcast show ended traumatically after her co-star ended up in hospital.

The comic, 64, was exiting the stage after finishing a Saturday matinee performance when her co-host Judith Holder walked into a metal pillar.

Jenny told how she called 999 but was told they wouldn’t send an ambulance because Judith was conscious.

Judith burst into tears with pain and ended up calling a friend who is a GP.

The writer was later diagnosed with a probable hairline fracture of the forehead.

Telling listeners of their podcast Older and Wider, Judith said: “I ran off straight into something I didn’t see. It was totally black. It was the sharp corner edge of a wall, is what it seemed to me, into my forehead.

“I was utterly in shock. It’s a very odd feeling when you do that. It could have been hugely worse.”

She added: “It’s all a bit of a blur.”

Reassuring fans on Instagram as she shared a picture of her bruised forehead, Judith wrote: “I’ve looked better, but huge improvement on yesterday.

“Thank you so much for your beautiful messages. I’m over the worst, but gosh what a fright xxxxx.”

Telling fans about the incident on Instagram, Jenny shared a picture she had painted while waiting for news from Judith who spent most of the day at The J R hospital in Oxford.

She wrote: “After having a really nasty collision with a metal pillar as we exited the stage on Sat afternoon, she has been diagnosed with a probable hairline fracture of the forehead but no X-rays or CT scans will be carried out unless the pain gets worse.

“The treatment is high doses of ibuprofen and rest.

“This is the most upsetting thing that’s ever happened to me on stage – and it didn’t even happen to me (and I’m the woman who once threw up three times live onstage in front of a 1,000 people in Newcastle).

“She is, of course, being remarkable about it and already feeling stronger and happily the pain is easing.

“We will keep you all posted, but it was a traumatic end to a lovely show.

“We know some members of the audience saw the incident but most of you didn’t – we really had so much fun – up until that last second.”

Jenny is a comic and novelist who finished in third place on I’m A Celeb after becoming a fan favourite when she entered the jungle in 2010.
