I'm A Celeb - Charlene tears

I’M A Celebrity star Charlene White broke down in tears on her first night in camp.

The newsreader and Loose Women presenter admitted crying about missing her kids.

She admitted she couldn’t stop crying

After waking up in main camp, Charlene said in the Bush Telegraph: “I would say that my first night’s sleep in the jungle wasn’t great.

“I’m not used to sleeping outdoors, it’s a new environment.

“I think I was over emotional. I was missing the kids and it just got released through tears really and I just couldn’t stop crying.”

Charlene is not married, but she has been in a long-term relationship with her partner, Andy.

They share two children – Alfie, three, and Florence, one.

The 42-year-old keeps her family life out of the public eye, but spoke last year on Gabby Logan’s podcast about her love of “regimented” organisation while sleep training her kids.

“When I sleep trained Alfie, my partner was very traumatised by the entire thing,” said Charlene.

“Because I did the whole leaving him to scream it out for a couple of nights. Then he was sleeping for 12 hours.”

She added to The Mid Point podcast: “I think he was a little bit more emotionally scarred than I was.”

After a week in isolation without the chance to talk to her family, it all got too much for Charlene.

Elsewhere in camp, Owen Warner joked about Mike Tindall‘s snoring.

He said: “I thought the main thing I was going to have to be looking out for was the spiders, the snakes or the insects… turns out it was actually Mike. We’ve got a classic case of a [mimics loud snoring].”

Meanwhile on the island, Scarlette Douglas said: “I’m quite a morning person, I didn’t think I was. Yeah, I’m ready to go, let’s do this.”

Boy George told her: “I had an amazing night in a way. I meditated for about two hours.”

Scarlette laughed: “I just heard snoring.”

Boy George replied: “Sorry babe!”

Despite his early morning radio show, Chris Moyles admitted: “My campmates are going to realise that ironically I’m not a morning person.

“I take a little bit of time to wake up, but let’s see how that goes.”
