Retired professional boxer Tony Bellew has disclosed the true motivation behind his decision to join the reality TV show I’m a Celebrity. After coming in second place to Sam Thompson, Bellew revealed that a close friend named Mike convinced him to participate in order to show the public his true personality. Bellew admitted that he wasn’t concerned about whether or not people would like him, as his public image had been that of a “maniac who punches people in the face.” However, he wanted to demonstrate that he is a normal person and that his boxing career is now behind him.

He confessed that he almost left the show with her before ultimately deciding to stay and make it to the final. Bellew revealed that his sons wanted him to “go all the way” in the competition, which influenced his decision to remain.
