WORKERS don’t have to spend hours commuting to the office to hold down a good job.

The highest paying roles that let you work from home can net you an annual salary of over £45,000, and many of them don’t need a professional qualification.

You can earn up to £45,000 a year by working from home and without qualification

Lawyers, doctors and bankers are among the very highest earners who can work remotely full-time.

But after the pandemic forced companies into finding a way to keep people working during lockdown, plenty of other jobs can now be done away from the office.

In fact the number of roles advertised as remote is rising, according to job site Adzuna.

Adzuna advertised 152,875 remote openings in March, some 14% of all advertised jobs.

Just two months earlier in January, remote job listings made up 12% of all jobs.

Working from home salaries can be lucrative, even where no professional qualifications are needed.

A data entry clerk can earn £25,485 a year while a translator could bring in £46,280.

There are also working from home jobs listed that require absolutely no experience.

One role currently open on Adzuna is for a paid researcher, mystery shopper and product tester with an advertised income of £32,307 a year.

The majority of remote jobs on the site are for IT positions including software developers and highly skilled medical professionals.

Andrew Hunter, co-founder of Adzuna, said financial pressures at home are forcing more companies to let their employees work remotely to keep costs down.

He said: “With commuting costs rising amid the worsening cost of living crisis, offering a work from home position could make any employer instantly more attractive.”

The latest data from the Office for National Statistics showed rail fares were up more than 5% in February compared to a year earlier.

And with the overall cost of living still surging by more than 10% a year, the ONS said around one in three adults in the UK have cut back on the number of journeys they make.

Hunter said demand for work-from-home positions has remained consistently high with jobseekers since the pandemic.

“Employers are listening with well over 150,000 work-from-home jobs currently on offer,” he added.

Where there is a shortage of workers in a particular sector, employees can argue for more flexible terms including the right to work remotely, he added.
