The cost of lathering up with bubbles in the bathtub is getting too high for Brits, as new research reveals a decrease in sales of bubble bath products. PZ Cussons, the maker of leading wash brands, reports a 35% drop in bubble bath sales. To test if a relaxing soak is still possible on a budget, Laura Stott tried and rated a selection of bargain bath products. Read on to find out which ones made the cut.

Tesco Essentials Bath Foam

Tesco's budget-friendly bath foam scores high due to its low price and lovely fragrance. Although it doesn't last the longest in the tub, it froths up quickly and produces plenty of bubbles. The mild and gentle formula also makes it suitable for the whole family.

Cussons Creations Vanilla & Shea Butter

This bath product offers a touch of luxury without breaking the bank. Although it has a creamy consistency and a strong vanilla scent, it left the skin feeling soft. The pretty packaging adds a nice touch to any bathroom.

Lacura Relax & Unwind Bath Soak

Despite its affordable price, this bath soak comes in a posh-looking bottle that gives you spa vibes. The synthetic lavender and water lily scent may not be for everyone, but it still adds to the relaxation experience. The foam is decent, making it a great option for a long, stress-busting soak.

Novon Bath Cream

If you're looking for a no-frills option that won't break the bank, Sainsbury's own-brand bath cream is the way to go. With its silky consistency and gentle formula, it's suitable for the whole family, including those with sensitive skin. While it may not offer extravagant suds or fancy packaging, it is an excellent buy for its price.

Just Essentials Foam Bath

Asda's foam bath is a hidden gem that outperforms expectations. Despite its budget packaging, it provides quality bubbles and a lovely aroma. The ultra-concentrated formula means you get a lot of suds for your money, making it a great choice for families.

Cien Stress Relief Soak

This Lidl soak offers excellent value for money with its large bottle and quality suds. The herbal eucalyptus and rosemary scent helps to relieve stress, and the real rosemary leaf adds a calming aroma to the bathroom. Consider this option for a relaxing and affordable bath experience.

The Collection Sleep Therapy Bath Soak

Sainsbury's purple supermarket soak provides a soothing lavender and waterlily fragrance. While it is slightly pricier than other options, it remains a decent economical choice. The foaming action is impressive, and a little goes a long way.

Morrisons Ginger & Shea Pamper Bath Soak

Although smaller in size, Morrisons' bath soak offers a unique and delicious scent with its natural ginger extracts. The creamy texture and shea butter nourish and soften the skin. While it may not foam as much as other options, it still provides a pleasant bathing experience.
