A dream come true

A couple from Madeley, in Telford, Shropshire, who initially thought their £1 MILLION EuroMillions win was a scam, have now shared how they've spent their windfall.

Travelling the world

Ruth and Rob Giblin have taken time off to travel the world, creating lasting memories for their family. They took their first foreign holiday in over 20 years, touring Italy and visiting Rome, Florence, and Venice. Their children also got the chance to experience their first-ever flight.

Exploring the UK

In addition to their international travels, the couple also treated their family to a classic UK seaside holiday in Cornwall. They also visited London for the first time during Christmas last year.

Career changes

Ruth, who still works as a leisure centre supervisor, says she sometimes still can't believe their newfound wealth. Meanwhile, her husband Rob has chosen to resign from his engineering job and pursue a career as a teaching assistant.

A life-changing moment

The couple's life took a sudden turn when Ruth almost didn't buy the winning ticket and needed her husband's reminder. When they discovered they had won, they couldn't contain their excitement and immediately shared the news with their children and Ruth's parents.

Still sinking in

Reflecting on their win a year later, Ruth admits that it still feels somewhat surreal. However, they have used their fortune to make the most of life and create unforgettable experiences for their family.

Ruth's winning UK Millionaire Maker code for the draw on Friday, July 22, 2023, was TLBX74150.
