A couple in Manchester has shared their incredible home transformation story, revealing how they turned the oldest house on their street into a stunning property worth £200,000 more than its original price. Ella Moore, an interior designer, and her husband purchased the house for £277,000 in 2017 and spent six years renovating it.
Finding the Perfect Project
Looking for a larger home with character, Ella and her husband stumbled upon an 1800s property in Northenden. Despite needing a lot of work, they saw the potential and decided to take on the challenge.
A Labour of Love
The couple lived in the house for a year before starting the renovation process. With a budget of £90,000, they began transforming every room, including building an extension and completely changing the layout downstairs to create an open-plan living space. They also made changes upstairs, moving the bathroom, adding a fourth bedroom, and installing en suites.
A Significant Increase in Value
According to Ella, their hard work has paid off. She estimates that their home is now worth between £420,000 and £460,000. While they haven't had it officially valued, Ella believes that their rough estimate aligns with the selling prices in their area.
