MILLIONS will start to receive a £150 cost of living payment within days, but not everyone will get the cash.
The payment is meant to help with the extra costs disabled people in particular often face, such as care and mobility needs.

That means that not everyone will get the cash boost, which starts landing in bank accounts from June 20.
In total, six million people will receive the £150 payment to help them with the cost of living.
The cash will be paid directly into eligible people’s bank accounts – you don’t have to apply.
However, there are some who won’t be eligible for the help such as those on Universal Credit and Child Benefit.
We’ve rounded up the full list of benefits that won’t qualify for the £150 one-off payment.

- Income-related employment and support allowance
- Income support
- Pension credit
- Child tax credit
- Working tax credit
- Universal Credit
- Carer’s allowance
- Child benefit
- Contributory, or “new style”, employment and support allowance (ESA)
- Guardian’s allowance
- Contribution-based, or “new style”, jobseeker’s allowance (JSA)
- Maternity allowance
- State pension
- Statutory adoption, maternity, paternity and shared parental pay
- Statutory sick pay
You’ll only be able to receive the free cash if you’re in receipt of at least one of the following benefits:
- Disability Living Allowance
- Personal Independence Payment
- Attendance Allowance
- Scottish Disability Benefits (Adult Disability Payment and Child Disability Payment)
- Armed Forces Independence Payment
- Constant Attendance Allowance
- War Pension Mobility Supplement
The tax-free cash will be paid directly for the majority of eligible people between June 20 and July 4.
A small number of people will receive the money after July 4.
This applies if you were awaiting confirmation of your eligibility for the above qualifying benefits on April 1.
The code to spot in your bank statement will be your National Insurance number followed by “DWP COL”.
The £150 payment is just part of a wider package of support announced by the Government worth up to £1,350 in total.
It means that if you don’t qualify for the cash, there is still more help at hand.
What other help is there?
Extra help includes a £900 payment for millions on certain benefits including Universal Credit and a £150-£300 top-up for millions of pensioners.
The £900 has been split into three instalments of £301, £300 and £299.
Over eight million people are eligible for the help in total and should have received the first instalment last month.
The second and third instalments are due to be paid this autumn and in spring 2024.
You qualify for the payments if you receive the following benefits:
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Income Support
- Pension Credit
- Universal Credit
- Child Tax Credit
- Working Tax Credit
Meanwhile, the remaining payment is worth £150-£300 and will be made to millions of pensioners from November.
You will receive the payment if you qualify for this year’s Winter Fuel Payment, which you will get if you were born before September 25, 1957.
The money is essentially a top up to the Winter Fuel Payment which is designed to cover the costs of heating over the colder months.
You will be sent a letter from the Government in October or November if you are eligible for the £150-£300 top up.
You might also be able to get help via the Household Support Fund.
The help is being distributed by councils in England and what you are entitled to varies depending on where you live.
But, in most cases, you will be in line for support if you are on a low income or benefits.
