Xercise4Less gym shutting down due to ongoing decline of shopping center

A gym chain with 230 locations is set to permanently close one of its branches in just a few hours, sparking criticism from fans who deem the timing to be terrible. The Xercise4Less gym, located in Falkirk's Callendar Square Shopping Centre, will shut its doors at 8pm this evening. The closure is a result of the ongoing decline and eventual closure of the shopping center, according to a statement released by JD Gyms Group earlier this month.

Memberships transferred to JD Gyms with added benefits

Members of Xercise4Less Falkirk will have their memberships automatically transferred to JD Gyms, granting them access to 10 gyms across Scotland. In a gesture of gratitude for their support, JD Gyms will freeze the Direct Debit payments for the month of December, providing members with a free trial period to experience the facilities of all JD Gyms clubs in Scotland. Starting from January, membership will continue with no contract, and Direct Debit payments will be made to JD Gyms. Those who do not wish to become a member at JD Gyms can cancel their Direct Debit with their bank.

Other closures in the area

This closure comes as another blow to the Falkirk area, as a major fashion chain with 350 stores has recently put one of its shops up for let. Additionally, a popular Italian restaurant will be closing all of its branches before the New Year.
