Empty store greets customers

Phase Eight, a popular high street fashion retailer with 58 stores, has suddenly closed one of its branches. The Cheltenham store in the Promenade shut its doors on Monday without any prior public announcement from the company. Customers visiting the store were met with empty clothes rails and a note about the closure.

Alternative options for shoppers

Although the Cheltenham store has closed, shoppers can still see the full range of Phase Eight products at the stand-alone shop in Worcester, located 25 miles away. In addition, there are concessions available in House of Fraser and John Lewis, both just a few minutes' walk from the closed store.

All staff redeployed

All staff members from the Cheltenham store have been redeployed to new roles, according to a company statement. The statement also expressed gratitude to the store's customers for their support over the years and provided information on where customers can still find Phase Eight products in the area. The company has various Phase Eight concessions, as well as online shopping at www.phase-eight.com.

Expansion plans

In addition to the closure of the Cheltenham store, Phase Eight has revealed plans to open new stores across the UK and Europe. The company currently has 58 stand-alone stores in the UK, with a new store opening in Cambridge on September 29th. Other store openings planned for this year include Merry Hill, Stratford, Manchester, and Kingston, with more to follow next year. The company has also announced future openings in locations such as Blue Water, Blanchard's Town, and Hamburg.
