Get Paid for Signing Up

Martin Lewis’ MoneySavingExpert has unveiled a way for you to get £205 in free cash without having to switch banks. In the latest MSE newsletter, Martin’s team shared a new offer from HSBC that rewards account holders with £125 when they open a new multi-currency account. On top of that, you can grab an extra £80 as part of the deal.

How to Claim the Cash

To receive the initial £125 before Christmas, all you need to do is open a fee-free HSBC Advance account and complete the following tasks within 60 days:

  • Make five or more payments on the debit card with no minimum spend required
  • Deposit £1,500 or more at once, which you can immediately withdraw
  • Log in once to the HSBC app
  • Open the app-only HSBC Global Money multi-currency account and order the multi-currency debit card

Once you've completed these steps, the £125 will be paid into your Global Money account within 20 days.

More Cash and Additional Benefits

To receive the additional £80 cash payment, you need to use your new Global Money debit card at least five times before April 2024. These purchases can be made in pounds or in overseas currency. In addition to the cash rewards, opening a Global Money account also enters you into a prize draw for a chance to win one of 24 £3,000 cash prizes.

Important Notes

Before you proceed, keep in mind the following:

  • You are not eligible if you have held an HSBC current account or opened a First Direct current account since October 1, 2018. Existing First Direct customers can apply if they opened their account before October 2018.
  • The HSBC Advance account is a basic current account and offers few perks compared to other accounts.
  • The Global Money account allows you to hold money in 18 different currencies and make payments in those currencies, as well as transfers to over 200 countries in more than 50 currencies.
  • Getting the HSBC Advance current account will appear as a new product on your credit report, but it will have a minimal impact on your credit score.

Conclusion

While the HSBC accounts may not be top-rated, they offer a great opportunity to earn some free cash. If you're interested in rewards on spending or better exchange rates, there are other accounts available that may suit your needs. Remember to compare different accounts and exchange rates before making a decision.

Stay Warm for Less

In addition to the cash rewards, MSE has also shared a genius way to stay warm in the winter for just £4 to buy and 17p per week to run. Don't miss out on this money-saving tip!
