NANDO’S customers have complained of losing thousands of pounds after hackers targeted their accounts in a cyber attack.
They say their usernames and passwords have been stolen and used at the chicken chain.
The crooks are thought to have used a technique called credential stuffing where login data available online is stolen and used to hack into the victims’ other accounts.
One customer said he had lost £670. And nursing student Ragan Burrows, 21, from Sheffield, lost £133.
The hackers used her account to feast on 15 extra hot wings, a chicken butterfly, half a chicken plus two garlic breads and chips, washed down with soft drinks.
Ragan said: “They must have been a group of friends or feeding a family — they bought loads.
“I don’t know how people can go through life stealing from others like this. It’s horrible.
Covid measures mean customers must scan a QR code with their phone and order online.
Nando’s apologised and said it would refund anyone out of pocket.
It added: “Our systems have not been hacked but some individual accounts have been accessed.”
