Poundland has launched a new range of seven perfumes for women that are inspired by popular branded scents. These fragrances, priced at just £4 for 100ml, are considered to be some of the cheapest on the high street. But are they worth it? We asked fragrance evaluator Noemie Maury to give her verdict.

1. Lady Glamour

  • Inspired by Good Girl by Caroline Herrera, £113 per 80ml on official website (£141.25 per 100ml)

Noemie described Lady Glamour as a trendy, sweet, musky scent with white flowers. While it lacks complexity, she believes it is a good option considering its price. The fragrance also has decent staying power, although it becomes simpler and less sweet over time.

2. Pink Crush

  • Inspired by Prada Candy, £73.95 per 50ml at Boots (£147.90 per 100ml)

Noemie found Pink Crush to be fruity and fresh, but also weak and cheap-smelling. Despite this, she thinks it is decent for its £4 price tag. However, the fragrance fades quickly and leaves only a hint of apple scent after 15 minutes.

3. Summer Goddess

  • Inspired by Paco Rabanne Olympea, £78 per 50ml on official website (£156 per 100ml)

Noemie believes Summer Goddess captures the essence of Paco Rabanne Olympea, although it is not an exact replica. The fragrance features a nice scent of white flowers and is well-balanced and strong. However, its staying power is disappointing, with almost no scent remaining after 15 minutes.

4. Red Petals

  • Inspired by Giorgio Armani Si Passione, £125 per 100ml on official website

Red Petals has a distinct smell of red roses with a strong vanilla background, similar to the Giorgio Armani Si range. Noemie found that the fragrance still remained after 15 minutes and had a strong impact. She considers this perfume a safe bet.

5. White Light

  • Inspired by Mugler Angel, £125 per 100ml on official website

Noemie immediately recognized White Light as an inspired version of Mugler Angel. While it has a slightly harsher smell, she believes it is a good alternative for the price. However, after 15 minutes, many of the notes have faded and it mainly smells of patchouli and vanilla.

6. Define Me

  • Inspired by Scandal by Jean Paul Gaultier, £105 per 80ml on official website (£131.25 per 100ml)

Noemie described Define Me as a weak fragrance without any strong notes. While it may be a good option for those who prefer light and fresh scents, she personally wouldn't choose it due to its lack of complexity. Unfortunately, there is almost no scent left after 15 minutes.

7. Miss Conduct

  • Inspired by Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel, £136 per 100ml on official website

Noemie initially thought Miss Conduct was a good copy of Coco Mademoiselle, with a mix of peach and vanilla. However, after 15 minutes, the scent changed significantly, losing the peach completely and becoming more like vanilla ice cream. Noemie believes it no longer compares to the original fragrance.

NOEMIE’S VERDICT

Noemie recommends either Red Petals or Lady Glamour. According to her, these perfumes offer good value for the price and have longer-lasting scents compared to the others.
