Tax Equality Day
On Thursday, September 14, Wetherspoons holds its Tax Equality Day to promote a permanently reduced tax bill for the pub industry. Customers can enjoy a 7.5% discount at all 827 pubs on this day. Pubs and restaurants currently pay 20% VAT, but Wetherspoons founder Tim Martin argues that this is unfair to the hospitality sector. The discount means savings on meals and drinks, with a large breakfast costing £6.67 instead of £7.21 and a pint of Leffee Blonde reduced from £6.85 to £6.16.
Real Ale Festival – Autumn
In addition to its spring beer festival, Wetherspoons also hosts a 12-day real ale festival in autumn. This year, the festival will run from October 11 to October 22, featuring up to 30 ales from five international brewers and 25 new ales to Wetherspoon. Last year, pints were available from just £1.99 during this festival. Keep an eye out for the average pint and cheapest pint prices for this year's festival.
