ARE bored children getting on your back now the weather has taken a turn for the worse?

We are used to a downpour, or two, but sometimes our little’uns are less understanding when the weather doesn’t play ball.

You can still have fun with the kids now the weather has taken a turn for the worse – here’s how

But, don’t fret, you needn’t fork out a fortune to keep your tots happy (and dry) with these savvy, socially distanced activities…

Not a lot of dough: If your kids fancy a bit of DIY, you can make playtime last even longer by tasking them with making their own playdough.

You can easily whip this up with a few kitchen essentials.

Get eight tablespoons of plain flour, two tablespoons of salt, 60ml warm water, one tablespoon of vegetable oil and a drop or two of food colouring makes one ball of playdough. Easy!

Mix the flour and salt in one bowl, and in a separate bowl mix the rest of the ingredients.

Then, pour the coloured water into the flour mix and stir together before kneading together for a few minutes.

It will keep fresh in a sandwich bag or air-tight container too.

Home sweet home: If you can’t face heading out on a dreary day, don’t worry — you can keep the kids entertained indoors on the cheap too.

If you’re keen to get your children off the iPad and to socialise as a family a little more I love the Professor PUZZLE The Boredom Box, down to £19 at IWOOT.com, usually £25.

It features over 250 challenges and is perfect for a family games night.
