Clarks Confirms Closure

Previous Closures and Planned Closures
This closure in Grimsby follows three earlier closures and plans for four more closures before the end of the year. The closures include stores in Dundee, Fareham, Inverness, Spytty, Newcastle under Lyme, Norwich, and Kent.
Clarks' Restructuring Plans
Clarks has faced financial difficulties in recent years and posted a significant loss in 2019. The company brought in management consultants to assist with restructuring plans and was rescued by a private equity firm. A Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) was agreed upon, resulting in the loss of overall control for the Clarks family.
Relocations and New Store Openings
Despite the closures, Clarks has also relocated and opened new stores this year. This includes a new store in Taunton and a store in Newcastle's Eldon Square shopping centre.
