Find out which own-brand frosted flakes beat Kellogg's in taste, texture, and price.

Kellogg's Frosties: Expensive and Lacking Flavor

Kellogg's Frosties may have been the original frosted flakes, but they fell short in our taste test. While they maintained their crunch and firmness in milk, the corn flavor was lacking. With 37g of sugar per 100g, they were also the highest in sugar content. And at £3.29 for a 470g box, they were the most expensive option.

Sainsbury's: The Surprise Winner

Sainsbury's own-brand frosted flakes came out on top in terms of flavor and texture. They had a good balance of corn and sugar and remained crunchy and crispy in milk. Although they had a high sugar content of 27g per 100g, they were the cheapest option at £1.13 for a 500g box.

Morrisons: Respectable Texture and Low Sugar

Morrisons' frosted flakes scored well in texture and had one of the lowest sugar contents at 22.3g per 100g. Priced at £1.40 for a 500g box, they were in the middle of the pack.

Tesco: Disappointing Texture and Sickly Flavor

Tesco's own-brand frosted flakes had a sandy texture and were sickly in flavor. While they had a low sugar content of 22.4g per 100g, they were also one of the more expensive options at 28p per 100g.

Asda: Worst Texture, but Balanced Flavor

Asda's frosted flakes had the worst texture, but the balance between corn and sugar flavor was good. With the lowest sugar content out of all the options, they were priced at £1.40 for a 500g box.

Aldi: Crunchy and Weighty

Aldi's own-brand frosted flakes had a great crunch and held their texture well in milk. With a 600g box, they were the heaviest option. However, they had a relatively high sugar content compared to others.

Lidl: Better Than Expected

Lidl's own-brand frosted flakes were slightly more expensive than Sainsbury's but had a lower sugar content. While they didn't have the best flavor, they maintained their firmness in milk.

Overall, Sainsbury's frosted flakes were the clear winner in terms of taste, texture, and price. So if you're a fan of frosted flakes, save some money and give Sainsbury's a try!
