BORIS Johnson and Liz Truss were both handed £18,660 of tax payer cash when they quit as PM.

Shocking new documents also show disgraced ex-Tory deputy chief whip Chris Pincher was given £7,920 – despite quitting the role because he groped two men.

Since 1991 ministers have been awarded severance pay when they step down from their jobs.

A lump sum usually the equivalent of one quarter of their annual salary is handed out.

When Rishi Sunak quit as Boris’ Chancellor in 2022 he was given £16,876.

But the PM paid back the amount in full.

Ex-Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng, who was only Treasury Chief for 38 days, got a hefty £16,876.

Alongside ministers Whitehall mandarins are also given generous when they’re sacked.

Tom Scholar, former permanent secretary to the Treasury was made a whopping £500,000 richer with severance pay and cash in lieu of annual leave combined.
