£10 Million to Help Hero Veterans

Jeremy Hunt will announce this week that the Chancellor is set to allocate £10 million to support the mental health of veterans. The funding will be used to provide assistance to those who risked their lives to protect the country.

Fighting Depression and Suicide

Studies have shown that veterans are at a higher risk of depression and suicide. With this in mind, the Chancellor aims to address these issues by allocating more funding to veterans' health and housing services in Wednesday's Autumn Statement.

Aiming for Real Impact

A Treasury source stated, "The heroes who risked their lives for our freedom deserve our support. We know homelessness and mental health issues are prevalent, so the Chancellor wants to target this money to where it can make a real difference."

Struggles of Veterans

When veterans leave the Armed Forces, many find it difficult to reintegrate into society. Over the past 20 years, more than 10,000 troops have been discharged due to mental health issues.

Autumn Statement Details

The highly-anticipated Autumn Statement will be delivered in the Commons on Wednesday, usually around midday.
