Labour's Angela Rayner and Sam Tarry were seen having dinner with Lord Michael Levy, known as 'Lord Cashpoint' for his fundraising skills during the Blair years. This has sparked speculation that they are building an election war chest.

A Night Out with Lord Levy

Angela Rayner and Sam Tarry were spotted enjoying a meal at a Michelin-starred Indian restaurant with Lord Michael Levy, who was a key fundraiser for Tony Blair. This has raised questions about their election campaign finances.

Lord Levy, who earned the nickname 'Lord Cashpoint' for his ability to raise funds during the Blair years, is now back raising money for Labour. This dinner with Angela Rayner and Sam Tarry has raised speculation about their election plans.

Sam Tarry, who was recently deselected by activists in Ilford South, is reportedly looking for a new seat. The dinner at Benares in London's Mayfair has fueled rumors that Tarry is actively seeking support and funding for his future political ambitions.

A Westminster insider commented, "That dinner party will certainly raise a few eyebrows."

When approached for comment, neither Sam Tarry nor Lord Levy responded to requests.

Angela Rayner's Labour Party source defended the dinner, stating, "Angela enjoys eating out with her friends. It's hardly a secret that she's fond of a curry."

Lord Levy, now 79 years old, raised over £100 million for Labour between 1994 and 2007. Although he was questioned during the 'cash for honours' scandal in the 2000s, he was cleared of any wrongdoing.
