TOP ministers are at war over the Foreign Secretary “going soft” on Iran, HOAR can reveal.

Security minister Tom Tugendhat and Home Secretary Suella Braverman both want to declare the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a terror organisation.

But they have been blocked by James Cleverly despite mounting pressure from MPs to proscribe the group, which they say presents “clear and present danger” to the UK.

Senior Tories say the Foreign Secretary is “too closely led by officials” from the civil service.

But supporters of Mr Cleverly say intelligence gathering is more important.

The Iranian regime is accused of 15 threats to kidnap or kill UK-based Brits.

MPs voted to follow the US and outlaw the IRGC in January but the legal process to do so has not been carried out.

A Foreign Office source said yesterday: “Nothing is ruled in or out.”

The Home Office said: “We will continue to use all the tools at our disposal to protect against any threats from the Iranian state.”
