PRINCE Harry says he only cried once after his mother’s death – and it was at her burial.

The Duke of Sussex revealed that even as he met crowds of Brits mourning Princess Diana, while walking past the 50,000 floral tributes laid for her, he showed no emotion.

The Duke of Sussex said he first shed a tear at his mother’s burial

He also recalled how he and William felt as they met Princess Di’s grieving fans in the days after her death

The 38-year-old says he now feels a sense of guilt that he was smiling as he shook the hands of his mother’s grieving fans – which were wet from their tears.

The Prince shared the heartbreaking insight during Harry: The Interview, which will hit screens tomorrow night.

But ITV tonight released a sneak peek into the interview with news anchor Tom Bradby.

During the clip, Harry recalled the days immediatedly after Princess Di’s death in 1997, when he was just 12 years old.

The Prince said: “Everyone knows where they were and what they were doing the night my mother died.

“I cried once, at the burial, and you know I go into detail about how strange it was and how actually there was some guilt that I felt and I think William felt as well, by walking around the outside of Kensington Palace.

“There were 50,000 bouquets of flowers to our mother, and there we were shaking people’s hands, smiling.

“I’ve seen the videos, right, I looked back over it all.”

He continued: “And the wet hands that we were shaking, we couldn’t understand why their hands were wet, but it was all the tears that they were wiping away.

“Everyone thought and felt like they knew our mum, and the two closest people to her, the two most loved people by her, were unable to show any emotion in that moment.”

It was revealed in recent weeks that Harry would sit down with ITV ahead of the release of his bombshell memoir Spare.

It will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX.

But HOAR this week scooped the world by getting hold of a Spanish copy of the book, which is set to be out on January 10.

In the memoir, Harry revealed he has taken cocaine, cannabis, magic mushrooms and even used laughing gas while Meghan was giving birth.

He also told of how he lost his virginity to an older woman, and claimed that brother Prince William “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and … knocked me to the floor“.

The Prince has also sensationally claimed he was not William’s best man as he slammed the “bare-faced lie”.

But, Spare has also left seven questions unanswered – including the identity of his older lover.
