Prince Harry has reportedly ended his friendship with actor Dominic West following comments made by West in a 2014 interview. West claimed that the two of them drank champagne out of a prosthetic leg during a celebration after a trek they did together in 2013. According to sources, Harry was furious about the invasion of his privacy and has not spoken to West since. The Duke of Sussex is also said to have a dislike for anyone who is friends with West.
West's controversial anecdotes from their 2013 trek to the South Pole
Dominic West and Prince Harry embarked on a 208-mile trek to the South Pole in 2013 to raise funds for the veterans' charity Walking for the Wounded. In a press conference held a year later, West revealed that they celebrated their success by drinking liqueur and champagne. He claimed that some members of the group, including Harry, even drank champagne from a fellow trekker's prosthetic leg. West also mentioned that Harry made "eye-wateringly rude jokes" during the trip.
The fallout and severed friendship
Harry was reportedly infuriated by West's comments and accused him of invading his privacy. Despite West's attempt to downplay the situation, their friendship deteriorated after the incident. The Duke of Sussex has allegedly cut ties with West and dislikes anyone associated with him. West, who portrayed King Charles in The Crown, admitted in a later interview that he "probably said too much" about their trek celebrations.
