Princess Kate's Absence from Balmoral

A new book has uncovered the real reason why Princess Kate did not accompany Prince William to Balmoral to see the Queen before her passing. Previous reports suggested that Charles had instructed Kate and Meghan Markle not to come, citing royal protocol. However, the new biography claims that it was Kate's decision to stay home with her three children.

Kate's Priorities

The book, titled "Charles III: New King, New Court. The Inside Story," by Robert Hardman, reveals that Kate wanted to be there for her children as they started school. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were scheduled to begin at Lambrook on September 8, and Kate believed it was important for them to have at least one parent at home.

Queen's Preference for Privacy

The biography also sheds light on the Queen's preferences when it came to visitors while she was ill. Like the late Duke of Edinburgh, Queen Elizabeth did not like a queue of family members at her bedside. This may have influenced Kate's decision to stay away.

Harry's Separate Trip to Balmoral

While Charles had told Harry not to bring Meghan to Balmoral, Harry had already made plans for them to travel to Scotland together. However, Harry ultimately agreed to go alone after Charles' intervention. This resulted in Harry having to find his own plane, causing a delay in his arrival at Balmoral.

The Queen's Peaceful Passing

In a historic memo, the Queen's private secretary, Sir Edward Young, described her final moments. According to him, her passing was very peaceful as she slipped away in her sleep. He noted that she would not have been aware of anything and that there was no pain.
