Ugo has praised the work Princess Kate and Prince William do to support rugby

Ugo is now proudly championing a new NFL campaign with The Jets and The Bears to encourage girls to get into fitness

Ugo who dazzled on Strictly with Oti Mabuse, worked with Kate on her groundbreaking Early Childhood#ShapingUs campaign earlier this year.

The sports and reality TV star has praised how down to earth the royals and shared their unique bond.

In an exclusive chat with the Sun, the doting dad-of-two said: “They are just parents at the end of the day. When I saw them last we  loved to chat about kids, and just how important getting the right support for early years is.

” We had a great chat about the rugby too and Kate was so excited about the Six Nations in a World Cup year. I’ve been lucky enough to meet the Queen, Prince Charles and obviously played with Tindall over the years, so it’s lovely to have that support for our sport from the royal family.”

He added: “My brother has even played rugby against Prince Harry. I don’t think I’ll get the chance to teach their kids to play rugby, they have Tindall in the family for that!’”

Speaking of his work with Kate and Wills he said: “To have people in power, two royals as passionate as they are, sends a good message out to our children. Kate is so passionate about women in sports too, and this coincides with my work I’m doing with the Jets and Bears, to get more girls into sport. What a role model.”

“The coronation will be a time to celebrate, especially Prince Charles who has a huge role to take over from The Queen.

“I took my daughters to Buckingham palace earlier this week to get into the spirit. Hopefully they will remember this as a part of their history.”

Earlier this year fans were in their element as Ugo proudly posted his shots with Prince William and Kate on Instagram.

He captioned the shots: “An honour to be a part of this @earlychildhood #ShapingUs campaign.

“As a proud father to two young beautiful girls, I want what’s best for them. We all do for our children. From our homes to the wider world our children are shaped by day to day interactions they have and influence the adults they become. #ShapingUs

“Thank you @princeandprincessofwales.”

Starting from the 20th of April, the inaugural league will see girls aged 12-14 compete in two conferences of six teams each (twelve teams total) across five weeks. The Jets and Bears will each run a conference in Ealing, with the winners going head-to-head in a Championship Event on May 22nd.

The New York Jets and Chicago Bears have come together to engage UK girls in Flag Football and provide them with the opportunity to play and benefit from the sport.

The Jets & Bears will be co-running the inaugural NFL Girls Flag League 2023, a first-of-its-kind all-girls competition in the UK.

NFL Flag is the non-contact version of American Football and accessible for all, with women and girls driving some of the fastest growth.

The Jets and Bears want to give girls the opportunity to try NFL Flag, experience everything the sport has to offer and reap the benefits.
