MAX Bowden has shared an emotional tribute to his EastEnders co-star Danielle Harold after her heartbreaking exit from the soap.
Last night EastEnders viewers were left in tears as Danielle‘s character Lola Pearce passed away following a battle with a terminal brain tumour.

Fans were left in tears during Wednesday night’s emotional episode
And Max, 28, took to social media today to post a sweet message to Danielle, 31.
Sharing a series of snaps of them together, the Ben Mitchell actor wrote: “Our girl. What you have achieved in the last twelve months is extraordinary.
“My whole EastEnders “journey” started with you, and what a ride it’s been.
“Watching you work so closely everyday has been inspiring, but hasn’t quite topped being your friend. You’ve been there for all of us when we’ve needed a friend, and for that I can only thank you.”
Max – whose character is the father of Lola’s young daughter Lexi – finished off: “Your performance during this storyline is nothing short of genius, and I can’t wait to be stood beaming as you collect every accolade imaginable for your work.
“Will miss you so so much, and will be looking after little one. Again, so proud to know you.”
Max wasn’t the only one of Danielle’s co-stars to pay tribute to her after the heartbreaking episode.
Jamie Borthwick, who plays Lola’s husband Jay Brown, also heaped praise on the actress.
He wrote on social media: “Tonight we said goodbye to Lola and what a journey myself and @danielle_harold have been on!
“Working together for all these years has been the best! She really is a special one!”
