Actor Alan McKenna joined the Emmerdale line-up earlier this year as Gus Malcolms, Rhona's ex-husband. Desperate to have a family with his new bride Lucy, Gus asked Rhona for her consent to use the frozen embryos she had stored during their marriage. Rhona struggled to accept, and eventually refused, leaving Gus determined to find another way.
Marlon Discovers the Truth
In recent scenes of the Yorkshire-based drama, Rhona's new husband Marlon discovered that Lucy was pregnant. Sworn to secrecy by the couple, Marlon struggles to keep Gus' secret and ends up blurting the news to a shocked Rhona.
A Legal Battle Looms
Devastated by the news, Rhona seeks legal advice from solicitor Ethan Anderson. Unfortunately, Ethan makes it clear that a legal battle with Gus and Lucy would be arduous. Marlon and Rhona's mother Mary convince her to speak to Gus before taking any further action.
A Shocking Confrontation
When Gus fails to show for their meeting, Rhona stakes out his house and is aghast to witness him trying to escape with suitcases. Confronting Gus, Rhona is left in turmoil when a heavily pregnant Lucy emerges. The situation becomes even more intense when Rhona and Lucy have an emotional confrontation in the street, resulting in Lucy going into labor.
A Race to the Hospital
Rhona finds herself having to drive Lucy to the hospital as her waters break. The question remains: Will Rhona ever give Gus and Lucy her blessing despite their underhandedness, or will she seek revenge for their actions?
