WITH so many Coronation Street characters coming and going it is sometimes easy to lose track.
But one person who has caused mayhem on the famous cobbles was Jacob’s dad Damon Hay.

Jacob’s dad in Coronation Street is Damon Hay who he hadn’t seen in years as he had been living in Ibiza.
The storyline saw the youngster used by his dad to smuggle drugs through the Viaduct Bistro.
After being caught by the police and forced to flush some cocaine down the toilet, Jacob was hounded out of Weatherfield by Damon.
His dad let his girlfriend Amy believe that he’d gone back to his old ways in order to protect her from his drug associates.
Who is Damon in Coronation Street?
Damon has been a controversial figure on the street right from the off.
He was revealed to be the younger half-brother of drug lord Harvey Gaskell.
At first he seemingly wanted to pick up where his sibling left off by terrorising Nick Tilsley and Leanne Battersby and using the Bistro to smuggle drugs.
However, over time he began to show a softer side and went straight.
He tried to put his criminal past behind him and even went onto work for the couple.
Previously speaking about the character, Corrie producer Iain MacLeod told ITV: “Damon is charming and likeable on the surface but we will soon see he is much more complicated than that as he goes on to have an explosive impact, both in Jacob’s life and beyond.”
However, after Damon had an affair with Sarah Barlow, her husband Adam was hell bent on getting revenge.
This resulted in him being forced to leave Weatherfield for good, after Adam told a former drugs associate of Damon’s that he was set to report him to the police.
Who is Jacob related to in Coronation Street?
As Jacob’s dad is Damon, this means he is also related to Harvey Gaskell, who is his uncle.
This history behind the brothers saw them raised by Harvey’s father Wayne, but shared the same mother.
Their mum died when the pair were both still young.
When dad Wayne too passed away, the brothers were raised by their aunt Sharon.
Who plays Damon in Coronation Street?
Damon Hay is played by Manchester actor Ciaran Griffiths.
He has enjoyed an incredible career so far which includes playing Dylan Hodge in Waterloo Road, Mickey Maguire in Shameless, and Carl Thompson in Big Fat Gypsy Gangster.
Ciaran is no stranger to soap acting, with roles in The Bill, EastEnders, and Holby City.
