A COFFEE chain you’ve never heard of is “better than Starbucks” and cheaper too.

Tim Horton’s is a Canadian coffee chain that first came to the UK in 2017.

Tim Horton’s is a Canadian coffee chain

There are now 65 shops all across the country.

It sells coffee, tea, cold drinks and then burgers, sandwiches and breakfast food.

It also serves sweet treats such as cakes, pastries and doughnuts.

The likes of Starbucks, Costa Coffee and Cafe Nero are extremely popular coffee choices for customers.

But if you’re after something that won’t break the bank, it might be worth popping down to your nearest Tim Hortons.

In comparison, a latte at Tim Horton’s will cost you £3.19, but at Starbucks you’ll pay £3.36.

For a mocha, you’ll be charged £3.74 at the Canadian coffee chain but £3.84 at Starbucks.

Of course, prices will vary depending on location, the store and how you order.

So do have a look to see which is cheaper at your nearest coffee giant first.

You can find your local cafe by using the store locator on the Tim Horton website.

Shoppers can also order items via delivery apps such as Uber Eats and Deliveroo.

If you’re wanting to save even more money, HOAR put supermarket iced coffee cans to the test, including Starbucks and Costa.

If you don’t have time for a barista to prep your favourite iced latte in the morning, canned beverages are a great alternative and are often cheaper.

Brits can pick them up for as little as £1 at their local coffee shop or supermarket.

Other ways to save money on your shopping

It is always worth looking for little-known outlets and ways you can save some money on your shopping.

Too Good to Go is an app that allows you to rescue end-of-day food from many popular cafes, restaurants, shops and supermarkets that would otherwise go in the bin.

All you need to do is download and set your location on the Too Good To Go app and you can choose from nearby stores listing their unsold food at a reduced price.

Similar to Too Good To Go, you can search for nearby food to pick up based on your location through the Karma app.

You can then purchase meals at discounted prices.

However, unlike Too Good To Go, Karma will tell you what food you are getting, so there is even less chance of it going to waste.

No Waste is an excellent way to get organised, as you can scan your food and list it by expiry date, name or category.

It makes it easier to see what you are running out of, so you don’t double up on items in your next shop.

Lists can be shared with family so you can give away unwanted food plus you can track how much you are wasting by deleting items you have eaten or that have expired.
