Former tennis player Annabel Croft has shared her experience of performing a heartfelt dance as a tribute to her late husband on Strictly Come Dancing.

Croft, who is a contestant on this year's series of the BBC One dancing show, dedicated her couple's choice dance to her husband Mel Coleman, who tragically passed away from cancer in early 2023.

The emotional performance left the judges in tears as Croft blew a kiss to the sky, and she described the experience as an "out of body experience" during an appearance on spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two with professional dancer Johannes Radebe.

Croft expressed her overwhelming gratitude for the response to her dance, stating that she was unaware of the impact it would have on so many people. She also shared that she couldn't imagine sharing that moment with anyone other than her dancing partner Johannes, who understands grief.

Reflecting on her participation in Strictly Come Dancing, Croft revealed that the show has helped distract her from the pain of losing her loved one. She described the experience as taking her to a different place and allowing her to let go and be in the moment, bringing her joy and evoking childhood memories.
