STRICTLY Come Dancing star Helen Skelton said she steered clear of husband Richie Myler for a year before they split.
It comes after the Countryfile presenter, 38, announced the news that their marriage was over back in April.

Helen, who is paired with Gorka Marquez, is one of the celebs taking part in the 20th series of Strictly
Helen and rugby player Richie, 31, who tied the knot in 2012, share three kids together.
Last year the former couple were busy renovating a house in Yorkshire near their family home, and were just too busy to spend quality time together.
According to The Mirror, Helen said: “No… We’re not in the house together – we are staying out of each other’s way.
“We say this is the dream as we have breakfast, lunch and dinner together but then look after the kids in shifts.
“You appreciate the other in this situation. I don’t think he’ll ever say again, ‘What do you do with the kids all day?’. Sometimes I would get in from work and he’d be that husband that would look at the kitchen and say, ‘How is this still a mess when she’s been off all day?’.
“Now he’s done it he’s like, ‘How does she stay sane?’.”
Helen, who is currently taking part in this year’s Strictly, announced that her marriage was over on Instagram, just four months after she and the rugby player welcomed a third child.
In an emotional social media post, Helen said: “Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co parent our small children.”
Helen and Richie are parents to three young children, Ernie, six, Louis, five and Elsie Kate, 10 months.
The TV favourite and her kids are now living back on her family farm near the Lake District – and her parents are looking after them while she focuses on Strictly.
Meanwhile Richie has found love.
Weeks after their split was revealed, Richie started dating marketing exec Stephanie Thirkill, 32, the daughter of multi-millionaire Andrew Thirkill.
Earlier this week SE exclusively revealed that Richie and Stephanie are expecting their first baby.
A pal said: “They’re thrilled by the pregnancy.”
Stephanie took to Instagram to announce the news, excitedly tagging her boyfriend who is a player for top-flight rugby league side Leeds Rhinos.
A friend of his said last night: “Stephanie and Richie are obviously thrilled. They have moved very quickly but are extremely happy together.
“The timing of the pregnancy may raise a few eyebrows though.
“It is obviously such a huge step, and one made remarkably quickly off the back of Helen and Richie’s eight-year marriage ending. But Richie and Helen maintain cordial relations, and in a way the timing is actually perfect as Helen is so happy at the moment.”
The friend added: “She is loving every second of Strictly Come Dancing, and is far too busy — and probably knackered — to be worrying about her ex.
“Accordingly, Richie didn’t think it would be a huge problem because they have both moved on with their lives.”
Helen, who is currently paired with pro dancer Gorka Marquez on the BBC show, is in ninth place on the leader board.
