POKÉMON Go debuted a fan-favourite Pokémon this week, but players are struggling to catch it.

It will appear in eggs as part of a new event, and these require players to walk in order to hatch them.

Volcarona is available as part of the An Instinctive Hero event.

Volcarona, and its pre-evolution Larvesta, debuted this week, which are difficult Pokémon to catch even in the mainline series.

However, Pokémon Go players are saying they are near impossible to catch in the mobile game.

Larvesta is now available as part of the An Instinctive Hero event which started on Tuesday, May 2, and will end on Monday, May 8.

However, it is only available in eggs during this time, with some eggs requiring as much as 10km of walking in order to hatch.

Each player can only hatch one egg at a time unless they find or purchase extra incubators.

Players have been collecting data on how commonly Larvesta will hatch from eggs.

From data received so far, it appears that Larvesta only has a 2% chance to hatch from each egg.

This means that players would need to hatch an average of 50 eggs in order to catch one.

Aside from how difficult it is to collect 50 eggs in just one week, players then need to hatch them.

The minimum distance required is 2km, meaning without buying more incubators, a player would need to walk around 100km (60 miles) on average this week.

This only accounts for average luck, and naturally some players will be unlucky and need to hatch more.

Aside from this, it costs 400 candies in order to evolve Larvesta into Volcarona, which requires either more Larvesta hatching, or walking long distances with your Larvesta.

Walking with your Pokémon can be done after the event ends, but it still means that a lot of effort is needed to catch the latest ‘mon.

On Reddit, one player said: “Looks like it’s gonna take a miracle to hatch Larvesta in eggs.”

As this is Volcarona’s debut, it is likely that it will return to the game after the event, though players don’t know when this will be.

It seems that people who want to catch Larvesta and Volcarona during this event will have to get extremely lucky.
