Pokémon Go trick lets you catch EXCLUSIVE Pikachu in minutes

THE Pokémon World Championships are taking place in London this week, and Pokémon Go will be part of the event for the first time.

To celebrate, the Pokémon Company has announced a new series of tasks, which when completed, will earn you an exclusive Pikachu based on the World Championships.

This exclusive Pikachu is one of the rewards for the World Championships research tasks.

The tasks involve battling five challengers based on real teams people used in their regional championships.

These tasks are only available until 8pm UK time on August 23, so there are only a few days where you can catch this elusive ‘mon.

Waiting for a challenger to appear can take some time, so even if you have the will to battle them, it could be days before the blue-coated Pikachu is yours.

However, this one trick will give you the chance to catch the exclusive Pikachu quickly.

The trick works due to the wording of the tasks. Usually these tasks require that you win against the challenger.

For the World Championship research, you only have to fight them. Win or lose, you will still inch closer towards this limited ‘mon.

If you win the battle, the challenger accepts defeats and leaves.

But if at the start of the battle you click the ‘Retreat’ button in the top left corner, you will exit the fight with almost all of your health.

Then after some talk between you, Professor Willow, and the challenger, you will get the choice to try a rematch.

Retreating counts as finishing the battle, so even though you barely fought the challenger, it counts towards the Research task.

Just do this five times and your special/World Championship research task will be complete.

Then all you need to do is go into the research menu to collect your rewards.

For completing all the tasks, not only will you receive this special Pikachu, but also ten Poké Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls, a regular and Elite Fast TM, and a regular and Elite Charged TM.

Not bad for a few minutes of work.
