X FACTOR: Celebrity is in crisis as Glee’s Kevin McHale loses his voice just hours before the first live show.

The 31-year-old singer is desperately trying to recover amid fears that he might be forced to pull out of the competition.

The Daily Star report that producers have held emergency meetings about what to do if the US actor isn’t fit to perform in tomorrow’s show.

Kevin had vital sinus surgery earlier this year, and is said to have been plagued with problems ever since.

The star previously admitted that he was worried about signing up to the ITV show in case his ongoing problem has a negative impact on his singing ability.

He told the publication at the time: “This is the first time I am testing my vocals in a live performance.

“I was really scared to say yes to doing this.”

The Sun Online have contacted a rep for the show for comment.

Earlier this evening, Kevin shared a video of himself looking nervous as he uses a steamer – adding an ominous Trick Or Treat Halloween gif to the post.

Singers use vocal steamers to hydrate their voice and keep it healthy ahead of big performances.

The actor, who shot to fame in 2009 as Artie Abrams in Glee, is due to hit the stage tomorrow evening for the first live show in the first ever celebrity spin-off of X Factor.

He will be joined by the likes of Megan McKenna, Vinnie, Jones, ex Love Island stars, and Jonny Labey, with the stars previously wowing Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, and Nicole Scherzinger, during the auditions stage at Simon’s Malibu mansion.

The X Factor: Celebrity’s first live show will air at 8.20pm on ITV tomorrow night
