I’m A Celebrity has become embroiled in a ‘safety’ row following a ‘stupidly dangerous’ moment during the finale. Sam Thompson, 31, was crowned King of the Jungle last night, beating out Tony Bellew and Nigel Farage for the top spot.

‘Stupidly dangerous’ moment on the rickety bridge

Fans were up in arms over a moment where Sam jumped on his friend Pete Wicks since the rickety bridge looked like it could collapse. Taking to an online forum, one wrote, “Blimey Sam really needs to be careful with how he goes charging and jumping around and into people. He could have ended up diving off the bridge there!” Another added, “They’re going to fall off the rope bridge.” And someone else agreed, “God they wobbled so much, I thought they were going over too, poor Pete.”

Final challenges and winner revealed

During the final episode, viewers saw the last standing contestants take on one last challenge before being treated to a luxurious meal of their choosing. For his final trial, Sam took on a stomach-churning eating challenge which saw him eat a pig’s vagina. Tony was faced with the Stakeout, where he was strapped down to a giant plate and showered in jungle critters, while Nigel was chucked into the Panic Pit where he won a star for every two minutes he stayed in there. After the votes had been totted up, hosts Ant and Dec revealed that politician Farage had come in third place, leaving Sam and Tony to duke it out to be the new King of the Jungle. Tony was then revealed as the runner-up, meaning Sam was the winner. He takes the crown from Lioness Jill Scott, who beat Hollyoaks star Owen Warner last year to win the competition.
