I’M A Celebrity fans have lashed out at Joe Swash after he got their backs up following his behaviour towards campmate Helen Flanagan.

Joe, 41, came under fire from viewers after he picked Janice Dickinson over Helen when choosing team members for his new ‘pride’.

Joe opted for Janice to join his team last when faced with them both

The campmates had been told they would be split into two ‘prides’, with pride leaders and newbies Joe and Dean Gaffney taking it in turns to choose their team.

Joe was first to select his, opting for former Olympic athlete Fatima Whitbread, 62. Dean chose Jordan Banjo, 30, first.

The last two standing fell on Joe’s turn, with him opting for US model Janice, 68, over 32-year-old Helen, as he said she ‘scared him more’.

Coronation Street star Helen then looked awkward, before walking over to join Dean’s ‘pride’.

But fans were left cross with their choices, especially with Joe’s decision to shun the mum-of-three at the very last round.

Although she did not perform well the first time she appeared in IAC in 2012, the actress has dramatically upped her game for the All Stars series – and viewers are cheering her all the way.

Backing the actress, one tweeted: “That picking was terrible, Joe not picking Helen was was a bit of a d*** move.”

Another added: “Why are people underestimating Helen, she’s way better than Jordan at challenges.”

And a third complained: “I feel sorry for Helen she smashed her trial but it’s still like they all think she’ll be useless.”

Someone else also wrote: “It’s crazy how fast we’ve all flipped to Team Helen.

“When she arrived I was cynical (and I didn’t even watch her series) but she’s totally proved herself almost instantly.”

Joe’s decision to leave Helen out of his ‘pride’ comes days after Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo gave her a brutal order before another trial.

Referring to Helen’s 2012 decision to constantly pass on Bushtucker Trials, Toff told her that she’s “got to do better” as she headed off to climb a 1,100 metre crane structure.

Helen had the last laugh, however, as she climbed the tower and won all her stars. Her ‘pride’ also won the first head-to-head trial on Wednesday night, too.

The pre-recorded I’m A Celebrity South Africa continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
