What's Happening?

The popular Moomaid of Zennor Ice Cream Parlour in Cornwall is set to close its doors after the landlord decided to sell the property. The family-run business has been operating for four years outside of Falmouth and has been a beloved spot for locals and tourists alike.

Closure Date

The ice cream venue will shut down for good on September 24, leaving fans devastated.

Remaining Locations

While the Zennor location will be closing, other Moomaid of Zennor franchises in Porthowan, St Just, and St Ives will continue operating.

Reaction from the Owners

The family-run business posted on Facebook: "Obviously we are very sad to lose the café – we have put a lot of work into it over the past four years and have been blown away by the support from our loyal customers. Moving forward, we are working on ideas to get scooping Moomaid again in our home village and hope to have news for you very soon."

About Moomaid of Zennor

Moomaid of Zennor Ice Cream Parlour makes their luxury ice cream on their own farm in West Cornwall. The cows that provide the milk for the ice cream are happy cows, as they are housed in the winter and remain outside from February to October, weather permitting. In addition to ice cream, the Zennor parlour also serves coffees, teas, sandwiches, homemade cakes, cream teas, and sundaes.

Discovering Britain's Biggest Mr Whippy Ice Creams

In other ice cream-related news, a hidden gem seaside hut selling Britain's biggest Mr Whippy ice creams for just £3 has been discovered. These "skyscraper" ice creams are almost a foot tall, double the size of a traditional Mr Whippy. The small brick hut is located in a secluded spot in Weymouth, Dorset, and has become a popular spot for tourists.

Neil Barker, a holidaymaker from Sheffield, was amazed by the size of the ice cream, saying, "It is the biggest Mr Whippy I've ever seen, twice a normal one."
