Baileys Tops the List, but Lidl's Deluxe Irish Cream is a Close Second

The best Irish cream liqueurs have been revealed ahead of Christmas – and a bargain supermarket is on par with Baileys. In a blind taste test conducted by consumer champion Which?, Baileys came out on top with a 76% score, but Lidl's Deluxe Irish Cream was just one percentage point behind and £2 cheaper.

What Impressed the Tasters

The tasters in the blind taste test assessed each product based on taste, mouthfeel, aroma, and appearance. Lidl's Deluxe Irish Cream impressed with its flavor, appearance, and mouthfeel. It is available for just £7.99 for 70cl.

Where to Find the Best Deals

If you're looking for the best price for Baileys, make sure to shop around as prices change frequently in the run-up to Christmas. Currently, Asda, Tesco, and Sainsbury's are selling 70cl bottles for just £10, the cheapest prices available. Tesco and Sainsbury's offers are only for Clubcard and Nectar cardholders, but signing up for these programs is free.

Other Irish Cream Liqueurs to Consider

If you're open to trying cheaper alternatives, other Irish Cream liqueurs in the blind taste test scored well for flavor. M&S Irish Cream Liqueur, Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Irish Cream Liqueur, Morrisons The Best Irish Cream Liqueur, and Aldi Specially Selected Irish Cream Liqueur all received positive ratings.

All of the Irish Cream liqueurs included in the test have an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 17%.

Remember to enjoy your Irish Cream liqueur responsibly and be Drinkaware.
