Price Hike Sparks Outrage

Cadbury has faced backlash from shoppers after admitting to making key changes to their popular Mini Eggs. The price of Cadbury Mini Eggs Chocolate Bag 80g has surged 25% in Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, and Morrisons, increasing from £1 to £1.25. Similarly, the price of Mini Eggs Bar 110g has also risen by 25% in Tesco and Morrisons. Additionally, Mini Eggs Carton 38.3g in Tesco and Sainsbury’s has seen a 20% increase, from 50p to 60p, according to the latest figures.

Last Resort Decision

In response to the backlash, Cadbury explained that making changes to the price of their products is always a last resort. The company cited steep rises in costs across their supply chain, particularly for core ingredients such as cocoa and sugar. These increased costs have forced the company to adjust the prices of their products.

Alternative Options Available

While some shoppers are unhappy with the price hike, supermarkets like Sainsbury’s are committed to offering customers great choice and value. In addition to branded products like Cadbury Mini Eggs, Sainsbury’s offers their own brand options, such as the Sainsbury’s Milk Chocolate Mini Eggs 85g, which can be purchased for as little as £1.

New Flavour Unveiled

In the midst of the controversy, Cadbury has introduced a new flavour of Mini Eggs – orange flavoured. Customers have described the new flavour as a "whole new world of chocolate," adding a whimsical twist to the classic treat.
