Cost of parenting soars as nappy and baby wipe prices rocket amid cost-of-living crisis

PARENTS face price rises of up to 60 per cent for nappies and baby wipes, figures show.

In all, 90 Pampers products have soared in the big four supermarkets.

Cost of living is hitting parents with toddlers and babies

Pampers 24-pack Baby-Dry Night Nappy Pants Size 6 rose by 60 per cent in Asda — from £5 in June to £8 in July.

In Morrisons, 12 packs of 50 New Baby Sensitive Baby Wipes rose from £11 in July to £15 this month.

And a pack of Aqua Pure Baby Wipes pack has risen from £2 to £2.50 in Sainsbury’s.

In Tesco, a jumbo pack rose from £9 to £11 last month, trade magazine The Grocer reported.

A spokeswoman for Sainsbury’s said: “We are committed to offering our customers great choice and value when they shop with us.”

In addition to Pampers products, Sainsbury’s offer private-label alternatives for “as little as 60p.”
