A man who frequents McDonald’s said he received £100 in free cash by using an easy Monopoly move. Paul Donaldson shared his win on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook, reminding others to scan their McDonald’s Monopoly stickers. He also acknowledged that the food may be unhealthy, but he enjoys it nonetheless. Many people were unaware that the stickers contained codes and expressed their surprise in the comments. McDonald’s Monopoly, which offers various prizes, began on September 6th and usually lasts for around six weeks.
How does McDonald’s Monopoly work?
In McDonald’s Monopoly, players collect stickers from their food packaging that represent train stations or color-coordinated road names, similar to the classic game. Not all menu items have the same value, determining how prizes are redeemed. Instant food prizes can be redeemed at any McDonald’s branch by handing over the token at the counter during the order. Winners may need to provide personal details, such as their date of birth, email address, and phone number, to redeem their prize. Redemption options include email or delivery. Some stickers may also provide app play codes that can be entered on the McDonald’s app to see if a prize has been won.
