The Government's Food Standards Agency said today that the chain, with more than 1,000 stores in the UK, is pulling M&S Plant Kitchen Mushroom Pies, costing £2.75, because they contains soya which is not mentioned on the label. "This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya" said the FSA.

The chain is urgently recalling its £2.75 Plant Kitchen pastries because they contain soya, a potentially life-threatening ingredient that was not listed on the label.

What's the risk?

For individuals with a soya allergy, consuming the product could lead to anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction that can be fatal within minutes.

What to do if you bought it?

If you purchased a 200g pie with a use-by date of April 12, 16, 18, or 22 and have a soya allergy, the Government's Food Standards Agency advises against consuming it and recommends returning it to the store for a refund.
