Crispin Blunt, a Tory MP, has confirmed that he is the member of Parliament who was arrested on a rape allegation. In a statement on X, Blunt revealed that he has already been interviewed twice by the police. The MP has had his whip suspended and has been asked to stay away from Parliament. He was questioned by the police this morning and three weeks ago. Blunt is ready to fully cooperate with the investigation and believes it will end without charge.

Arrest and Investigation

Blunt confirmed his arrest and stated that he has been interviewed twice by the police. The first interview took place three weeks ago when he reported his concern over extortion. The second interview happened earlier today under caution following his arrest. Blunt believes that the arrest was unnecessary and he remains ready to cooperate with the investigation. He has chosen not to comment further until the police have completed their inquiries.

Additional Charges

Blunt was also questioned on suspicion of possession of controlled substances. Surrey Police confirmed that a man was detained on Wednesday morning in Horley for rape and possession of controlled substances. The man has been released on conditional police bail while further inquiries are conducted.

Conservative Party's Response

The Conservative Party has chosen not to comment on the ongoing police investigation. This arrest adds to a series of sleaze allegations that have recently plagued the party, including the suspension of a former deputy chief whip and the suspension of another MP for six weeks for bullying and sexual misconduct.

Not Connected to Previous Allegations

The latest rape allegation against Crispin Blunt is not related to the recent allegations involving other Tory MPs. The investigation into these allegations is ongoing.
